Dear community and investors, As October begins, we are proud to share with you the seventh project update with all the incredible news from September! So many amazing things have been going on lately, so let’s get right to it.

Data Lake Founders featured in Forbes 30
We’re incredibly proud to announce that both of our founders Wojciech Sierocki and Ligia Kornowska were today selected to be featured in Forbes’ Annual 30-under-30 list! Both Wojciech and Ligia were also featured in Forbes’ 25-under-25 list in the past, so this represents the second time they have been chosen amongst Poland’s top entrepreneurs, business and thought leaders.

Our company was features as Startup of the Month by SiliconRepublic – a tech publication based in Ireland! We’re honored to have been chosen to be featured, and hope that we’ll be able to bring consent-based medical data donation to the Irish people soon!

Project Update #6 — August 2022
Dear community and investors, It has been an absolutely tremendous month for Data Lake. We’ve been making significant progress on all fronts of the business, as well as hitting some MAJOR project milestones. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right to it!

AI as a means to prevent cancer, the need for Medical Data
Cancer was the second leading cause of death, after heart disease, in the United States in 2020 1, and although its mortality is decreasing over the course of the decades (from 196.5 to 144.1 deaths per 100,000 population from 2001 to 2020 2), there is still plenty of margin of improvement. For example, lung cancer alone is responsible for two million deaths worldwide in 2019. About 75% of those who have it, die within five years of diagnosis. But the situation improves drastically if the disease is found early: if tumours are still small, the mortality rate decreases as low as 33%. We have reached an agreement with the first Data Provider!
It is with great pride that we hereby announce that a Medical Entity affiliated under one of the most prominent medical universities in Europe has formally signed an agreement to become our first Data Provider. This is a huge and very crucial step towards building a global network of Data Providers! Data Lake is a complete ecosystem rather than a singular flow of data, and the fact that new medical entities are enthusiastically embracing our values and joining our mission is yet another strong sign that the time has come to unlock medical data for scientific research and progress. Polygon: how it works and why we joined its ecosystem
