Disrupting a $100 B market: A Case Study on Decentralized Search for Clinical Trial Participants through a Networked Referral System in Poland
Clinical trials play a crucial role in advancing medical research and innovation, yet the process of recruiting participants presents significant challenges. Traditional recruitment strategies rely heavily on centralized databases or recruitment agencies, which often fail to reach individuals who could benefit from participation in clinical trials, thereby impeding research progress and treatment development. Moreover, the cost of patient recruitment for clinical trials is a significant component of the overall expenses, often comprising up to 40% of the total budget. On average, recruiting a single patient for a trial can range between $5,000 to $25,000 USD.

Data Lake secures a Strategic Partnership with a top 10 Pharma Company for a Rare Disease Registry – a Case Study
A disease attains the “rare” designation when affecting <1:2,000 in the European Union and <1:200,000 in the US 1. Contrary to common perception, the impact of rare diseases is substantial. Nearly 8,000 rare disorders have been identified, affecting an estimated 260–440 million individuals globally, with a notable concentration among children, constituting a prevalence rate of 3.5%–5.9% 2. These staggering figures dispel the notion of rare diseases as isolated instances and underscore their status as a significant public health concern, affecting a considerable portion of the global population.

Project Update #18 – Q4 2023
Dear Community and Investors, We wish you all a Happy New Year and we welcome to the first Quarterly Update of Data Lake! Last year has been say the least eventful for Data Lake: we started it with a vision of building a donation system for medical data, with the DeSci sector being still a small niche and our token just hitting the open market. Then, throughout the year, we refined our concept, redefined our product and set off to build Consentify, an enterprise-grade decentralized patient recruitment system. In the meantime, DeSci claimed its spot among the ongoing narratives in web3 and LAKE evolved as a token together with our vision.
Consentify hits Beta Test phase boosted by a Bug Bounty program!
Data Lake is proud to introduce a Bug Bounty program that will allow selected users to be rewarded for testing and providing feedback on their experience on Consentify. With this campaign, we want to express our gratitude to our community of holders by giving them the possibility to be the first ones to discover Consentify. We will also use this occasion to collect feedbacks and fix bugs to refine the platform and ensure a smooth experience for all users and researchers during the Public Launch in January 2024.
Unlocking Medical Research: Data Lake launches Consentify – the first DeSci patient recruitment platform!
The time has finally come for us to announce what we have been working on for the past months: brace yourself as we introduce Consentify, the first blockchain-based patient recruitment & consent management platform that will will democratize medical research!
