Data Lake Update #2 – April 2022

Data Lake Update #2 April 2022 graphics Data Lake

Our second update is here! :clock2:

Welcome to our new website with new visual identity! Data Lake is represented by the letter lambda, the 11th letter of the Greek alphabet, used as a symbol of wavelength. Indeed, Data Lake starts sending the first big waves through the health sector globally! :ocean:

The past month was spent mostly on business development, creating a strategic plan for the coming quarters as well as reorganising our marketing activities.

1. Securing first data orders 🧾

We have managed to secure the first orders for medical data from over a dozen data buyers with more orders and inquiries coming now almost every day. At the moment, several companies reported data demand that consists of imaging data (MRI, X-Ray), records containing ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes and more. We’ve always known that the demand for the medical data is huge but getting these orders while still flying below the marketing radar only confirms first-hand the validity of our business model on the demand side.

First data orders is a huge milestone for Data Lake. Such an early demand for specific data, with specified pricing and a determined customer, will allow us to get the system up and running very quickly and provide cash flow in it perhaps as soon as our IDO. Demand for $LAKE may therefore come very early in the project when there will be a minimal amount of tokens in circulation.

2. New roadmap! 🗺

While plotting our activities on the timeline we are guided by two main principles – the security and quality of our product (donation system) as well as maximizing token hodlers value. Data Lake is working in a fast, agile environment, yet we keep constantly adapting to market changes. Our latest roadmap reflects all the milestones that we will have to accomplish in order to launch our product on a full scale, regardless of market volatility around. You can check out the full roadmap here.

3. Telegram Group 📞

It’s about time to rally people behind the Data Donation social movement! A vital tool will be our open Telegram Group for our English-speaking community.

📣 Check it out here and stay on top of the project progress!  Data Lake Community Telegram

Meanwhile, it’s worth mentioning that our team is expanding again and we invite you to warmly welcome our Community Manager – Andrea! Say “Hi!” to him when you enter our group 🙂

Andrea is the creator of one of the leading crypto adoption communities in Italy, as well as a leader of PancakeSwap community there. Always at work for the community, as he patiently solves all the doubts that community asks.

4. Building a coalition 🤝

Creating a global Data Donation social movement requires a broad network of partners and supporters – not only individual but also institutional. That’s why we are building a coalition of organizations supporting the data donation concept and signing our Data Donation Manifesto. More and more are joining on board! The latest sign up includes:

  • POLMED – the largest medical devices employers association in Poland;

  • Polish Pharmacy Chamber of Commerce – the largest life sciences employers association in Poland

  • ICM Warsaw University

  • IZWOZ Łazarski University

  • SAS Foundation

  • L.Paga Foundation

  • Polish Patients Federation

  • Business Intelligence in Management Faculty, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business

Thanks to the wide network of supporters, our project will ensure steady growth, strengthen it’s brand recognition and build public trust to the new donation framework we are creating!

As you can see – the future is ready for the taking for Data Lake! Since the crypto market became more volatile and down, Data Lake has switched focus to business development, as an attempt to build even stronger fundamentals before launching the token on IDO, thus securing strong demand for $LAKE. We are looking forward for the next months, during which we will be focusing on launching Data Lake System, securing and announcing crucial partnerships, expanding our marketing activities as well as strongly promote medical data donation idea. Stay tuned! 🚀🚀🚀

Data Lake Study Published in Diagnostics: Proving the Power of Data Donation

Big milestone for the Data Lake: our study has just been published in the peer-reviewed journal Diagnostics 🎉 The study — “Analyzing the Gaps in Breast Cancer Diagnostics in Poland—A Retrospective Observational Study in the Data Donation Model” — is one of the first peer-reviewed proofs of how patient-driven data donation can be used to uncover real-world healthcare challenges. 587 breast cancer cases analyzed  Patient data voluntarily donated to power the research  Key finding: while first oncology consultations were timely, delays of 3+ months emerged before surgery and treatment, revealing systemic gaps  In short: patients shared their data → researchers with the help of Data Lake mapped delays → policymakers now have evidence to fix bottlenecks.   Why It Matters for Data Lake 🌊 This is more than an academic milestone. It’s validation of the data donation model we’ve been building since day one, where we proven: Patients are willing to share their data for science, provided adequate safety and trust measures are in place. It’s possible to get access to large patient populations (20k+ data donors) working with decentralized science tools, outside of traditional academia and public research financing. Time for citizen scientists to shine! Real-world data studies can
