Quarterly Update: Expanding the Data Lake Ecosystem & Powering the Future of DeSci

As we move deeper into 2025, Data Lake continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in decentralized science. This quarter has been one of product expansion, platform launches, and strategic partnerships that lay a powerful foundation for the future of research and innovation. Here’s a recap of the most important milestones we’ve achieved:

🧬 The Launch of the Patient Registries Builder

We are proud to unveil a new flagship product in the Data Lake ecosystem: the Patient Registries Builder.

Built in direct response to the needs of our clients, this proprietary technology enables fast, compliant, and efficient creation of patient registries—a process that typically requires months of legal reviews, technical development, and manual coordination.

Our Registry Builder simplifies and automates the process through a smart, modular framework, allowing stakeholders in our ecosystem to:

  • ✅ Create medical interventions tailored to any therapeutic area or indication
  • ✅ Deploy front-ends for analyst interaction
  • ✅ Leverage the Data Lake Chain for secure and transparent consent storage
  • ✅ Ensure GDPR and HIPAA compliance of Consents by design

Whether it’s a pharma partner launching a rare disease registry, a researcher collecting real-world data, or a DeSci DAO engaging a patient community, our Registry Builder removes friction, cuts time to launch, and adds compliance confidence.

We believe this tool will become the gold standard for registry creation and beyond, helping to fulfill our mission of democratizing access to ethically sourced, high-quality health data.

🌐 LAKE.fun: From Vision to Reality

This quarter also saw the official launch of LAKE.fun, our first native Web3 platform built on the Data Lake Chain.

Together with our launch partner MedMetrix, we released the first project aimed at improving AI-powered dermatological diagnostics platform. The community response has been overwhelming—hundreds of users signed up to receive a free AI analysis and participate in the study.

By following a simple research pathway, users contribute real-world data while being rewarded in $LAKE tokens. With the voting module, project visibility, and reward mechanisms now live, LAKE.fun has officially set a new benchmark for how research can be funded, powered, and grown in the open.

And the best part? This is only the beginning.

🧠 SpineDAO: Another DeSci Leader Joins the Family

This quarter, we welcomed SpineDAO—a project focused on improving spine care through AI and decentralized collaboration—into the Data Lake ecosystem.

As SpineDAO joins the Bio.xyz cohort, it also chose Data Lake as its core partner for patient data and consent handling, including legal compliance. This means all patient-reported data, imaging, and AI training inputs contributed to SpineDAO projects will be managed using our infrastructure—ensuring security, GDPR compliance, and ethical use from the ground up.

This is a textbook example of how DeSci x Data Lake is enabling vertical innovation at scale.

🎙️ Accelerate Bio Podcast: The Saga Continues

Our podcast series Accelerate Bio, launched together with our friends at BiohackerDAO, is gaining momentum and reach.

This quarter, we hosted:

  • 🎧 ResearchHub – on decentralized academic publishing
  • 🎧 Patrick (That Investor) – on early-stage DeSci funding
  • 🎧 Union Square Ventures – on Web3 and health investments
  • 🎧 Macromo – on digital health and personalized medicine

These conversations are helping shape the public narrative around DeSci and bring together communities of scientists, founders, and investors working toward a better future.

📚 Exploring New Frontiers: NobleBlocks Partnership

We also began an exciting collaboration with NobleBlocks, a decentralized publishing platform aiming to make academic publishing open, transparent, and censorship-resistant.

While still in early exploration, we see clear synergies between Data Lake’s expertise in consented data and NobleBlocks’ vision for open research publishing. Together, we aim to bridge the gap between data generation and knowledge dissemination, adding value to both researchers and the public.

🔮 Looking Ahead

With new tools, new partnerships, and an expanding platform ecosystem, Data Lake continues to lead the charge toward a more open, efficient, and ethical future for science and healthcare.

Thank you to our partners, users, and community members for joining us on this journey. The next quarter will be even more ambitious—and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Stay tuned. 🌊

Data Lake Study Published in Diagnostics: Proving the Power of Data Donation

Big milestone for the Data Lake: our study has just been published in the peer-reviewed journal Diagnostics 🎉 The study — “Analyzing the Gaps in Breast Cancer Diagnostics in Poland—A Retrospective Observational Study in the Data Donation Model” — is one of the first peer-reviewed proofs of how patient-driven data donation can be used to uncover real-world healthcare challenges. 587 breast cancer cases analyzed  Patient data voluntarily donated to power the research  Key finding: while first oncology consultations were timely, delays of 3+ months emerged before surgery and treatment, revealing systemic gaps  In short: patients shared their data → researchers with the help of Data Lake mapped delays → policymakers now have evidence to fix bottlenecks.   Why It Matters for Data Lake 🌊 This is more than an academic milestone. It’s validation of the data donation model we’ve been building since day one, where we proven: Patients are willing to share their data for science, provided adequate safety and trust measures are in place. It’s possible to get access to large patient populations (20k+ data donors) working with decentralized science tools, outside of traditional academia and public research financing. Time for citizen scientists to shine! Real-world data studies can
