Data Lake Q3 Project Update graphics Data Lake

Dear Community,

Welcome to Data Lake’s third quarterly update of 2024! We are proud to announce that we have officially completed our priorities, as well as iterating tasks for the third quarter! Among the most important achievements are the Mainnet Launch of the Data Lake Chain, grant received from Arbitrum Foundation and substantial improvements to the Data Lake Application. Read on for a detailed recap of our progress this quarter!

🗓 Where were we?

After launching our Application earlier this year, we recognized the need for a more scalable environment to manage consent collection for research and healthcare stakeholders. This led to the development and launch of the Data Lake Chain, built on Arbitrum Orbit, to provide the infrastructure necessary for decentralized science and consent management.

🤝 Building on Arbitrum

One of our major achievements this quarter was the official Mainnet Launch of the Data Lake Chain on September 30th, 2024. Built on the Arbitrum Orbit stack, our Layer 3 blockchain is designed to meet the unique demands of healthcare and research. The Arbitrum Foundation has supported this project with a grant, recognizing Data Lake as the go-to rollup solution for DeSci projects and healthcare institutions within the Arbitrum ecosystem.

The launch of Data Lake Mainnet has unlocked new possibilities for decentralized consent management, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance for consent data collection. Developers, researchers, and institutions can now connect to Data Lake Mainnet using the following parameters:

🔬 Projects, Partnerships and more

Data Lake, as the operator of the Polish ASMD Patient Registry, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Niemann-Pick Disease Registry (INPDR). This Strategic Data Partnership is set to enhance the development and management of a patient registry for Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD), furthering our mission to improve patient outcomes in the rare disease space.

We are also thrilled to announce the completion of our long-term project Donate Your Data Foundation, funded by Novartis, which has focused on enhancing the breast cancer patient pathway research. After nearly two years of dedicated effort, this project has been successfully delivered, marking a major milestone for Data Lake. This achievement underscores our commitment to impactful collaborations in the healthcare sector.

In addition, AxonDAO successfully integrated the Data Lake Widget into their A+Voice Research project, enabling all users to provide consent via the Data Lake platform. We’ve also teamed up with Etica Protocol to contribute to open-source research and decentralized science. Our newest collaboration with Welshare Health explores enabling their users to provide consent using the Data Lake Widget, pushing the boundaries of decentralized healthcare solutions.

We also partnered with BiohackerDAO, which resulted in the creation of the DeSci Pulse podcast. This podcast invites thought leaders from the science and longevity fields to discuss cutting-edge innovations and developments in decentralized science.

Data Lake Application: Improved and Migrated to Mainnet!

We’ve listened to feedback and made significant improvements to the Data Lake Application. As promised, we’ve implemented the application on the Data Lake Chain Testnet and it is now being fully migrated to the Mainnet. Over 3 million transactions in total were successfully conducted on the Testnet, with hundreds completed by patients providing consent for research through the app.

Major updates to the app include improved on-chain consent management, now on Data Lake Chain and an addition of more intuitive features to the user interface (UI). These upgrades ensure the platform is more efficient and user-friendly for researchers, clinics, and patients alike. 💥 Web3 Partnerships and Marketing Success

This quarter saw our presence within the DeSci and Web3 ecosystems grow significantly. Our partnerships are paving the way for more innovative solutions in medical data management and decentralized science.

On the marketing front, the Marketing Bounty Program was wrapped up, which ran from July 29th, 2024, to September 30th, 2024. The program incentivized users to create and share educational content about decentralized science and Data Lake across social media platforms such as Twitter (X), YouTube, TikTok, and Farcaster.

Our CEO & Co-Founder Wojciech Sierocki also led a workshop titled “WTF is DeSci?” at ETHWarsaw, exploring how Decentralized Science addresses the inefficiencies of traditional science.

🔚 Closing Thoughts

The third quarter of 2024 has been a period of remarkable progress for Data Lake. From the Mainnet Launch of the Data Lake Chain to strategic partnerships and the improvements to our Application, we continue to push forward in our mission to revolutionize decentralized consent management and medical research.

As we look ahead to the final quarter of 2024, we remain committed to our stakeholders, innovation, and collaboration. Stay tuned for more exciting developments, and thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Best regards,

The Data Lake Team
