Project Update #8 October 2022 graphics Data Lake

Dear Community and Investors,

It’s hard to believe that another month has already passed again – time is flying at Data Lake! We can’t wait to show you what has been going on inside and outside our office with the monthly recap, so let’s get right to it!

.

What you’ve been waiting for: $LAKE IDO Announcement

Let’s start with the biggest news of the month: as promised, $LAKE is going live by the end of the year – our IDO has been scheduled for the 7th December, 2022!

Get an email with the exact time of the IDO and instant notification of when we list on Uniswap by signing up for our IDO newsletter: https://data-lake.co/idosignup.

In line with our principles of fairness and democratic access to the data market, we will not be using whitelists or expensive launchpads, and opted instead for making $LAKE publicly tradable directly on Uniswap as an ERC20 token. More useful information on the IDO can be found on our blog article announcement – make sure to save the date so you don’t miss out!

A new Data Provider is on board!

We are pleased to share that we have successfully on-boarded another network of Polish hospitals and ambulatories – with broad specializations such as fertility as well as oncology – representing a total of more than half a million patients! Data donation through our data provider network will be key to the success of our system, and adding additional inputs places us one step closer to our goal of giving researchers the medical datasets they need to cure diseases, find new treatments, and improve patient outcomes.

To learn more about Data Providers’ role in Data Lake, you can read the article we’ve prepared on the topic by clicking here.

Blockchain Data: Key Challenges & Opportunities

Dinidh O’Brien, Data Lake Head of Public Relations and Marketing

Dinidh was invited to speak on a panel hosted by CryptoJobs, regarding the challenges and opportunities of putting data on the blockchain. In it he discusses our project, our growing position as a DeSci leader, and how Data Lake is a bridge between the Web2 and Web3 worlds.

DeSci, Crypto and Blockchain Appearances

During the past weeks, we have had the pleasure to introduce Data Lake in several blockchain-focused Telegram communities and YouTube channels. We were featured in communities in three different languages, reaching more than a hundred thousand people from all over the world!

The Gleam contest has ended!

At the beginning of July, we launched a contest through Gleam to spread the word about Data Lake. On the 23th of October, the contest ended and the results blew us away! We had hundreds of entries from almost every European country, but the response was worldwide with thousands of entries from across the globe. Our Twitter and Telegram communities have grown exponentially, further cementing our positions as one of the largest DeSci projects in the space. We’ll be contacting the winners soon, so keep an eye on your email inbox if you entered the contest!

Closing thoughts

A lot has happened this month – much of it progress behind the scenes – and all of it crucial to building our momentum. Our bizdev team is continually building our partnership network, as well as on-boarding data providers and data receivers on a constant basis. Our dev team is hitting milestone after milestone (usually early), and is building what will be an industry-leading technological system. The marketing and comms department has been hitting it out of the park – establishing us as a DeSci leader, growing our community tremendously, and putting our name in front of hundreds of thousands of people. And finally…we now have now a very important date secured – December 7th of this year – for the $LAKE token IDO.

Thank you for being a part of our growing community – there are MANY exciting things to come, and we are still very, very early. Don’t forget to sign up for our IDO newsletter at: https://data-lake.co/idosignup and stay tuned for some MAJOR announcements happening in November!

WTF is DeSci?

Decentralized Science (DeSci) is an emerging movement that leverages blockchain technology to transform traditional scientific research. By utilizing decentralized networks, DeSci aims to democratize access to funding, enhance collaboration, and ensure transparent dissemination of scientific knowledge. This approach addresses challenges in conventional science, such as limited funding sources, restricted data access, and lengthy publication processes.   The primary differences between DeSci and traditional science include: Funding: Traditional science often relies on centralized institutions and grant systems, which can be slow and restrictive. DeSci utilizes decentralized funding mechanisms, such as tokenization and community-driven investments, allowing for more agile and inclusive financial support. Collaboration: Conventional research is typically conducted within isolated institutions, limiting cross-disciplinary collaboration. DeSci fosters global, open-source collaboration, enabling diverse contributors to participate in and accelerate scientific discovery. Transparency and Access: Traditional scientific publishing often involves paywalls and lengthy peer-review processes, restricting access to knowledge. DeSci promotes open-access publishing and transparent peer review, ensuring that scientific findings are readily available to the public and the research community.   A prominent player in the DeSci landscape is Data Lake, a platform dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare data sharing through decentralized consent management. By leveraging blockchain technology, Data Lake enables patients to securely
