DeSci Network Roundtable #1 – “DeSci: Fad or Future?”

DeSci Network Roundtable #1 DeSci Fad or Future graphics Data Lake

We’re thrilled to announce that the first DeSci Network Roundtable event was a huge success!

The DeSci Network Roundtable brings together scientists, DeSci founders and enthusiasts and industry professionals to share innovative ideas, the latest advancements in science, and their vision for the future of the nexus of science, research and technology.

The topic of this first event was “DeSci: Fad or Future?”. To discuss it, Dinidh O’Brien, Head of Public and International Relations at Data Lake and emcee of the roundtable, invited Keith Comito, President at Lifespan.io, Jelani Clarke who is part of the core team at DeSci World, Jeffrey Hsia, CEO of Scisets and Dr. Wojciech Sierocki, Data Lake’s co-founder and CEO.

Here are some enlightening quotes from our guest speakers during the event:

“[…] in the years to come, healthcare enities or physicians or scientists will not even know that they are using web3 technologies and yet they will be able to address real problems using them. I think that is the direction we are heading to“

– Wojciech Sierocki

“The one hope that I have is because these framework are largely permissionless, […] people don’t need to be told when it’s okay to happen, they can just come in and test it out themselves at an individual/retail level. I hope and I think that that is going expedite the adoption of this.”

– Jelani Clarke

“One area that I think we can really work on to help improve the whole pace of scientific research is for each of us and each of the other DeSci organizations out there to not try to do absolutely everything themselves. Try to identify what you are great at and then find the inter-operation points.”

– Keith Comito

🔴 These however are just a taste of the immense value our guest speakers brought to the conversation. To watch the complete recording of the event, click here: https://youtu.be/8mxbq-RST0U.

The next DeSci Roundtable will be held on 11th February, the International Day of Women and Girls In Science. The topic will be “Women in Science: Trailblazers and Innovators”, and you can already register for free at https://app.session.com/desci/Women-in-Science-Trailblazers-Innovators?s=1&authid=RaKvMDsnNsTMdHKoqRBKc. Don’t miss out on this incredible event with our multi-generational, inter-disciplinary team of women who have and are continuing to make an outsized impact on their respective scientific fields.

Announcing LAKE.fun: An Ecosystem for Supporting Scientific Projects Backed by the Value of Data

We are excited to introduce LAKE.fun, a groundbreaking platform that empowers researchers to tokenize their scientific projects, build communities around their research, and enable participants to contribute meaningfully while being rewarded in LAKE tokens. LAKE.fun is poised to create a vibrant ecosystem where data becomes the backbone of research funding and collaboration for the Decentralized Science (DeSci) space. LAKE.fun is a tool enabling tokenization of research projects, backed by the value of data they generate, as well as leveraging the Data Lake blockchain infrastructure. It’s an additional product in the Data Lake ecosystem to further support decentralized, ethical, and efficient scientific research, leveraging the Data Lake Application and Chain. Let’s dive into what makes this platform unique and how it compliments the efforts of other projects in DeSci.    The Data Lake Journey: A Foundation for LAKE.fun Data Lake has proven the success of building a business model rooted in data. From enabling consent on-chain transactions to forging partnerships with global players, we’ve demonstrated the demand for decentralized, data-driven solutions in research. Our state-of-the-art patient recruitment application already supports evidence generation in healthcare and advancing collaboration between researchers and the industry. With LAKE.fun, we will enable researchers to: Fund research

Pioneering Decentralized Science: Data Lake and Arbitrum Orbit Collaboration

As a leader in Decentralized Science (DeSci), Data Lake is at the forefront of transforming how consent is shared and managed in scientific research. By leveraging blockchain technology, we are building a transparent, patient-first platform for consented research enrolment on top of Arbitrum Orbit Technology, supported by a grant awarded by the Arbitrum Foundation. What Are We Doing? Data Lake has built the Data Lake Chain, a Layer 3 blockchain designed specifically for decentralized consent management in healthcare and research. This chain, created using Arbitrum Orbit, is the backbone of our ecosystem and supports: Informed Consent Management: Enabling patients to securely provide and manage consent for their medical data to be used in research. Decentralized Collaboration: Facilitating partnerships between researchers, healthcare providers, and patients in a transparent and efficient manner. Scalability and Security: Delivering a robust infrastructure capable of handling the unique demands of DeSci projects. This is a significant step forward in our mission to revolutionize scientific research, ensuring that data sharing is ethical, transparent, and beneficial for all stakeholders. Why Arbitrum Orbit? Arbitrum Orbit provides the ideal foundation for the Data Lake Chain due to its advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 technology. Here’s why it stands out:
