Data Lake’s First Data Sale and Inaugural LAKE Buyback!

Data Lake’s First Data Sale and Inaugural LAKE Buyback graphics Data Lake

Data Lake is proud to announce its first buyback of LAKE token after the successful completion of our first data sale!

As outlined in our whitepaper, a percentage of our revenue from each data purchase is allocated towards buying LAKE tokens from the market. These tokens are subsequently distributed to our ecosystem stakeholders – including Data Donors – with a vesting period.

Thanks to our deal with an innovative healthcare startup here in Poland, we have used 3 ETH to purchase 1,469,744 $LAKE from the market! This amounts to 100% of the total revenue of the closed deal, and will be assigned to a dedicated Data Donor’s token vesting pool.

We would like to emphasize that this buyback is just the beginning of our efforts to build the sustainable $LAKE tokenomics based on the data. While we have successfully completed our first data sale and subsequent buyback, we are already actively working on securing and completing larger deals which take longer to be completed because of volumes and complexity.

We appreciate your patience as we work towards becoming among the main consent-sourced medical data providers on the European continent!

Proof of Buyback

Transparency was one of the primary reasons we chose a public blockchain. Here is the transaction ID related to our LAKE buyback: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xc1214e9cd704558f0a067b519c67a4c40f5e67570791dc4221576235b49f8633

Become a Data Donor!

The successful conclusion of the first data sale and the LAKE token buyback are the first steps towards our goal of unlocking a fair and ethical market of consent-based medical data.

We are excited to continue rolling out more deals and advancing our platform, and we are thankful to each of our Data Donors for making this all possible. If you haven’t signed up yet, we renew our invitation to visit https:donateyourdata.io – depending on your country you will either be able to sign up as a data donor, or join the waiting list to be the first one to know when it becomes available in your area.

Onwards and Upwards!

Pioneering Decentralized Science: Data Lake and Arbitrum Orbit Collaboration

As a leader in Decentralized Science (DeSci), Data Lake is at the forefront of transforming how consent is shared and managed in scientific research. By leveraging blockchain technology, we are building a transparent, patient-first platform for consented research enrolment on top of Arbitrum Orbit Technology, supported by a grant awarded by the Arbitrum Foundation. What Are We Doing? Data Lake has built the Data Lake Chain, a Layer 3 blockchain designed specifically for decentralized consent management in healthcare and research. This chain, created using Arbitrum Orbit, is the backbone of our ecosystem and supports: Informed Consent Management: Enabling patients to securely provide and manage consent for their medical data to be used in research. Decentralized Collaboration: Facilitating partnerships between researchers, healthcare providers, and patients in a transparent and efficient manner. Scalability and Security: Delivering a robust infrastructure capable of handling the unique demands of DeSci projects. This is a significant step forward in our mission to revolutionize scientific research, ensuring that data sharing is ethical, transparent, and beneficial for all stakeholders. Why Arbitrum Orbit? Arbitrum Orbit provides the ideal foundation for the Data Lake Chain due to its advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 technology. Here’s why it stands out:

Quo Vadis, DeSci?

Where are you headed, Decentralized Science? DeSci. Potential and threat  Decentralized Science (DeSci) is a new way of funding, conducting and publishing research. It uses blockchain and web3 to fund science, share data, and solve problems faster and more openly. The goal? To make research better, more accessible, and focused on real-world needs. DeSci is exciting and becoming an important web3 trend. It’s brought memes, buzz, and big ideas, like funding cancer research through DAOs or creating open-access data for all. It’s a movement that encapsulates the desire of the web3 community to do something meaningful, amidst trending dogs, frogs and Chill Guys.  DeSci has the potential of becoming the most important web3 trend, leading the way of fair, useful, verifiable, community-driven research, and adding trillions of dollars of value to the global economy. But it can also magnify the current problems of science and incubate pathologies that will further erode trust in research and result in destruction of value with long-lasting consequences.  In this article we lay out our current subjective diagnosis of Decentralized Science as well as concrete suggestions about further direction of the entire space.  DeSci Challenges Modern science faces many challenges, so does web3. The most
